PineBook Pro
- ordered jan 4, received in US jan 9
default Manjaro OS
- jan 2023
- machine started up fine. Setup went fine. Found the Wifi and connected. Downloaded the system updates and reboot. System dead. Unable to boot from eMMC and stalled before switching to the microSD boot. Had to open machine and disable boot from eMMC, which was new experience.
- Got it to boot Manjaro from microSD. Now working on installing Manjaro to eMMC.
Armbian 22.11 Gnome/XFCE for PBP
- tried both versions available here.
- no issues finding WiFi adapter or connecting to network.
- updates and restart from uSD worked well
- not a fan of the desktop appearance of either Gnome or XFCE desktops, but Armbian is not really supposed to be pretty. might check out a CLI version to finally force me to learn tmux.
Fedora KDE for PBP
- tried to install Fedora from image found here, but the wifi adapter not found
